Here is a recent pickup for me. I don't think it has been posted on CCF before, and the example on tokencatalog has the same obverse, but a different reverse http://tokencatalog.com/token_recor...rd_offset=0)

Roxy's Arcade is a 21+ speakeasy-style arcade bar in Cambridge MA (https://roxysarcade.com/) with the motto "Eat, Drink, Play, Nerd Out"

Anyone else out there with one of these?

Nice, Spence! If their machines are operated with tokens, these must be somewhat common (at least around Cambridge). You might want to give it an acetone soak and then treat with VerdiCare. Also, you should list yours on tokencatalog.

Hi Spence, I have seen these but only with the reverse shown on tokencatalog. Even now there are several listed on ebay (9) with that tokencatalog reverse if you want a higher grade example of one of those I can link to. Heres 1 of the 9 https://www.ebay.com/itm/225572227555

Based on how those look in better condition, perhaps its an error coin with the obverse image struck on both sides rather than a different reverse imo although didnt look too deep.

Yes good points--thx for the input. When I dug into it a bit deeper, it seems as though there are a ton of both designs up for sale on ebay. I believe that the design with the game screen is older and mine is newer.

Added: no I take that back. All of the ones for sale on ebay that I see seem to have the game screen on the reverse so maybe this one is an error.

Yes seems more likely an error as quality control on token production would not be at the same level of coins obviously which makes it a cool find to keep alongside one of the normal ones.

Anyone else out there collect arcade tokens? You have to be a certain age these days to even remember going to arcades and so some people have nostalgia for them and if you look collectibles from that era (cards, video games, even vhs etc are going up in value). I only know a few people however who actually saved them at the time they went to the arcades like one from every arcade they visited. There are a couple people I see that have over 10,000 different ones so that would definately be another deep thing to collect if one desired, but at this time the demand isn't too high which might be helpful as far as buying them at low cost, but not great for those that have them and perhaps trying to profit from such a collection rather than just enjoying the collecting itself.
