Need Help With No Date Jefferson Nickel.

4theloveofcoin New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 08/18/2023 04:44 am I found this Nickel in an old jar of change. It weighs 5.35g and appears to have been damaged. However the metal seems to all be the same metal throughout the coin. There is a lot of surface damage. Is there any possibility this is a mint error? Or could anyone provide me with an idea as to how it for this way? Thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

It looks like someone struck an arc (welding) on this nickel. For sure it didn't leave the mint looking like this.
