Hi
I've stumbled upon an interesting coin recently and I'm wondering if it might be an error coin. Could you take a quick look and let me know your thoughts? Check out the attached images of the coin. If you're into coin collecting or numismatics, your insights would be super valuable in figuring out if this is indeed an error and what type it could be.

Thanks a bunch for your expertise!

To CCF! This is what we call a parking lot coin. It's damage and has no premium. Worth face value. Extreme PMD.

I agree, the badly scratched reverse side was laying on the ground with cars driving over it.

Yes, post-strike damage of a rather vicious nature. Coin didn't leave the striking chamber in that condition.

We call this a "parking lot coin" (who really knows if it was on the ground in a parking lot or not, but the damage is the same as if it got ran over.

Almost all odd coins you find in circulation will be post mint damage. Coins spend very little time at the mint being made where relatively few errors can happen. However coins can spend up to a century or more being tossed around and beaten up an almost infinite number of ways when circulating.
