The letter L is virtually missing while the letter I is broader than normal. I suspect that both of these are due to their being some grease in the die that struck this cent.

I agree with grease on die. Here in Seattle area, I have not received a lot of 2023 cents in change or at my bank so can not compare letters, banks are a little slower up here, my bank will not even sell a box of coins, only two rolls at a time.
