Hey, I'm new to coin collecting. I would appreciate it if someone was able to help me determine if this is a legitimate error coin or environmental damage.

Newbie-Question:-1970-Penny-Possible-Error---Help

The edge is tapered inward to this side of the coin and the lettering seems to be touching the outer edge. Sorry if this is a mistake on my end, I'm new to this.

To CCF! Might be an early stage Dryer Coin. It's PMD.

to the CCF and Oh there's a lot of things that you find that will fool you. This is a good site to learn what an error or variety is so, so you won't get fooled as much.
