Newbie Question: 1970 Penny Possible Error - Help

I would appreciate it if someone was able to help me determine if this is a legitimate error coin or environmental damage. The edge is tapered inward to this side of the coin and the lettering seems to be touching the outer edge. Sorry if this is a mistake on my end, I'm new to this. Report this Post to the Staff
