i think the coin is stronger than a 50 so I'm going to say AU53. jacrispies may be correct on a clean and re-tone

I agree with 53. Reverse is struck with a worn out die. Without the field scratches on the obv, this would be a 55.

I think she's pretty, and I'm glad to have her in the harem. If she was cleaned, it was in the 19th century, and it didn't seem to bother PCGS.

First of all, it is a beautiful coin, thanks for sharing it. Second, EF(45) seems really harsh, and I am wondering if there's a bit of a "net grade" going on here as a result of a suspected cleaning many years ago. Either way, buy the coin and not the holder, and this makes the average EF(45) CBH pale in comparison. Great coin!

Lacking the luster needed for a high grade. Clearly a net grade for a previously altered AU in my eyes.

 the coin is significantly better than a 45. I'm in the "they net graded this" box rather than details the coin
