I paid the wife-angering sum of $1440, resulting in a 30-day ban on coin purchases. Was it worth it? The obverse pic doesn't do it justice, but the TrueView pic is dishonestly flattering, so I won't post it.

I'll say PR-65. I never tell my wife what I pay for stuff, and she doesn't want to know.

PF66 looks cameo in the reverse. Nice coin. Been in the doghouse. Sometimes it was worth it, more often it was not. Yours is certainly better than this overgraded example at PF69 star cameo with obverse scratches. https://coins.ha.com/itm/barber-qua...ption-071515When I was scrolling down I was hoping to find an S mintmark.

I see what you mean. It looks to me better that that from the auction. And prices in auctions I have seen are pricing the grade, not the coin. Like many buyers are blind investors not collectors. May be good for collectors who pay attention.

As long as the 30 day ban applies to only coin buying, you really shouldn't complain pristine. It could be far worse.

PR66 to my eyes. Better than a 65 I think.
