Not a Cud. IMO, it it even better than a cud- it is a Retained Cud of which there should be many less examples of that than of the corresponding full Cud. The die broke but the piece of the shank has not completely fallen away, essentially part of the die is displaced from the rest of the die face but the die itself is still intact. I am not sure how many strikes you can get out of a die with a Retained Cud but I cannot imagine that it would be many before that part of the die completely broke away.
