Hope everyone is well. I found a 1992 P Quarter that has an unusual Rim shape. Does anyone have any thoughts. Is this a mfg error? If yes, what kind. Thanks . appreciate any feedback!

Awww . thanks for the welcome. When you say damage, do you mean that while in circulation the moving of the rim occurred (ie someone took a blowtorch to it or maybe in the dryer). And, when "damaged" does this mean it's not worth collecting? I'm a newbie to coin collecting. Thanks!

First, welcome to CCF. Second, yes that is mechanical damage from after this quarter left the mint. This one would be a spender for me.

Yup, agree with everyone. I have a penny with 'similar' rim damage. Group comment suggested someone hit it with a hammer. Haven't figured out how you hold that darn penny without busting your finger!

BTW: welcome. This is one outstanding membership!

to the CCF and Damage on coins however it occurred is damage. It ruins any premium there might be on the coin originally. It has to be an error from the minting of the coin to be worth any premium or collectable.
