Brandmeister, I took the 1942 proof to two coin shops and they were pretty confident it was a proof. One said he would be tempted to dip it to get the haze off. I said I didn't want to take the chance of ruining it. I told him I had EZest. but he said he would use another which I forget. In any case, I am putting in my album. I wish I knew how to easily put a picture of it in here.

I looked it up, it was MS-70 he suggested.

I would never use MS-70 on a coin. Good choice to leave it alone.

Results of today's 20 roll hunt as follows: 39P; 40P ; 41P x 2; 41S; 47P x 2; 49P; 54D; 55D Unc but light strike blazer; 56P; and, 58D. The 55D was not an upgrade in any of my 3 books as I have wonderful examples already, but still fun to find.

Today's nickel finds for 25 rolls as follows: 17 total. 1939P; 1939D Key date XF condition but has some tiny specs and light thin diagonal scratches - still a nice find but not an upgrade in my current 3 albums. 1940Px2; 1941P, 1941S;1949Px3 1954Dx2; 1955D; 1956P; 1957D; 1959D; two silver War Nickels 1943P, 1945P; and a 1936P Buffalo. Allin all a nice diversity of coins.

jk, I am curious, does the 1947 nickel show the hub doubled T in Trust?
