I have never seen a coin with bubbling this bad. Thought I would post it to see if anyone has seen this before.

I'm really glad you posted this topic! I found a similar penny a few days ago and set it aside because I had no idea what I was looking at. Now I know :)

These are commonly seen on copper plated zinc cents.

I agree with John1, it is zinc dust but zinc bubbles is close enough.
