That is an oddity @clw. I'm glad you posted it.

I understand that you don't think it is a hit mark, but maybe a concentrated flat spot? Your cent doesn't look like the one DDO listed on varietyvista, although honestly that one is pretty subtle for my eyes: http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...0PDDO001.htm

@dearborn, I cannot find a 1950 double ear so I'm pretty sure it is not one, just thought I'd post it in the RARE case it was

I think the ear lobe has been flattened by being worn down and maybe a hit mark but not a doubled ear.
