Hey everyone, I ran cross this Anna May Wong quarter recently that caught my eye. My first instinct is that this quarter has been hit with some heavy PMD, but I'm not sure what would do this other than a rock tumbler. Lol. On the other hand, I wasn't sure if maybe this ws. Severe grease error or other type of minting issue. The fact that it effects both sides still makes me lean toward PMD but was too curious to not ask you guys for your opinions. Please anyone and everyone, would you share your ideas on what could have caused this please?

Oh, and I'm sorry, but the coin is more of dull silver color in hand. I'm not sure why I was unable to get a pic without the off tone. I believe its the compression process that caused it.

Definitely has been damaged, after it left the U.S. mint. PMD.

Some sort of acidic solution made this damage. Probably cleaning liquid was in contact with this coin for some time or maybe in a painters area and paint cleaner was the culprit? Many other examples could explain it also.

I used to make these in chemistry class for my students to get a good visual to remember what nitric acid does to metal.
