Way out of my league. I'd put it around VF-30. Surfaces are certainly market acceptable.

The first of the two varieties, B-1, with the spiked "E" in LIBERTY

VF35; but the tricky part with early silver is distinguishing file/adjustment marks from scratches; I am not qualified to determine that, so it would need an expert's eye across the bust/cheek/forehead to determine the nature of those marks.

i was bouncing between VF30 and VF35. I'm going with VF30 on this one.

Wicked nice 'low 6' example.
TPGs grade early American coinage by some magic formula unknown to mere humans.
I think it's EF40, no idea what's on the slab though.

i used to take into consideration weak strike vs wear. apparently you can't do that so now I come up with a grade taking it into consideration and then drop the coin a grade

This one is in an NGC XF Details holder due to Reverse Scratches and sold for $30,650. Interesting that the scratches pointed out were in the obverse and wonder if it is mislabeled and should say OBV Scratches.

There's some marks under the eagle's left wing that extend out to the wreath, but I don't see anything really worthy of a DETAILS grade.

The obverse is much more noticeable IMO unless those are file / planchet adjustment marks.
