oof! no matter the potential value of a coin, you should not get into the habit of using needle nose pliers to hold onto your coins. (don't use metal anything). But that said, this cent is just damaged as the rims have been mechanically removed.

...roger the metal contact warning, Dearborn ...my bad ... ...there is no evidence that I can see, with a 10x triplet, of any mechanical metal removal ... sanding or filing would leave trace scrpaing, & none is present ...I'll try later to get some close-ups of the exposed zinc area ... you'll see no evidence of mechanical removal ... ...on my way to play bluegrass now, but I'll post some pics in the a.m., if you'd be so kind as to look then, would be appreciated ... thanks...john

100% damage on this one. It wouldn't surprise me if it is slightly underweight.

Seems normal to me, some of the modern cents don't have well defined rims, they sometimes don't have any at all.
