Hi Carter, so most are going to tell you that you should never clean a coin, but there are ways to "wash" a coin. Check out conserv and bu plus on YouTube, I have never used it but I hear its great for silver and gold. They say you can use to conserve on copper but it may tone it. As for the doubling I'm not sure if it's machine or hub, maybe someone else has some better insight. Good luck #127808;.

Looks like Machine Doubling. I would suggest using 100% pure Acetone and Verdi-Care only.

Agree with @err that the mintmark looks like Machine Doubling rather than a RPM. Here is a link to the known RPMs for this date/mintmark so that you can make your own comparison:

Crater,
Whenever you think you have an RPM or a doubled die you need to first check the reference sites and let us know what attribution number you think it might be. As to cleaning, unless you know how to do it... don't. Practice on junk coins first. 100% pure acetone won't damage anything so give that a try if you want to.

Looks like MD on the MM (as mentioned) but NO, don't clean it. an overnight soak in acetone might help - but NO Rubbing to dry it - air dry only.
