Not that much off centre at all.
It looks like the coin hasn't engaged fully with the collar die. It has the railroad wheel rim appearance of the straight partial collar error IMO.
The 1972 5 cent was a relatively low mintage, a touch over 8 million.
Yours looks to be the "High Echidna variety" which is more common than the Low Echidna, but still at a premium above most other years.
Grade wise it's hard to say from the photo, not a lot of wear going on though. I'll leave that for others.
Here is a pic of a Low Echidna variety, It sits lower down and the gap of the SD to the rim is smaller.
