Kind of astonished they couldn't find somebody to take it over. Even if the sell the site and the machines, that's pennies on the dollar.

Looks like they were not getting enough orders from minor countries for either circulation coins, or collector coins.
Perhaps their costs for low mintages may have been to high, too be profitable.

(All conjecture on my part)

I thought their minting standards were sufficiently high enough.

Personally I have never been attracted to modern bright 'n shiny collector coins issued by any country - they usually have poor re sale performance in the numismatic after market

Sad to hear that. Not the biggest of players and a shrinking market. They mint the coins for The Isle of Man. Says it all really.#128532;

I suppose that there are several other private Mints around, that would be happy enough to take up the IOM's business

IoM (circulation) coins are currently minted by the Tower Mint.
