I had two rolls I was about to send to the bank and decided to take another look.

I found the two previously reported and several more.

The '44 P is my first War Nickel.
The other 3 are key/semi-key dates. Not sure about the 2 '58's as they are Denver mints.

So, now I guess I need to start a key date nickel folder. 1938-1961?

Nice find on the War Nickel.

Not even close - where are you getting your information?

The 1958-D Jefferson is by far the most common pre-1960 nickel to find. When I completed the series from CRH my find rate on the 58-D was one every 930 nickels searched.

The 1955-D is not quite as common but dedicated roll searchers have plenty of duplicates.

Yes indeed - several CCF members have completed the entire circulation strike Jefferson series from bank rolls. Have a go at it.

The only one I have not found in circulation is the 50D. That one is a key. Finding them all in circulation is kind of fun.

Thecoinrollhunter site. It was my error. the 3 I mentioned are NOT Denver minted. So I'll have to find better coins before I can start that folder.

A bit off-topic but... a 44-P is the only War Nickel I currently have, with darker tarnish than the one pictured. This was an "on the ground" find which happened a few years ago, rather fittingly during the week of Veteran's Day.
