Second, it looks to me like this cent has been exposed to a corrosive environment, such as an acid bath. That wasn't how this coin left the mint. oddguy Pillar of the Community United States 4135 Posts	Posted 10/17/2023 08:44 am Thank you for sharing your coin however, your title reads 1941b no big deal also never hold coins with something metal, if a rare coin gets even a little scratch it will being value down, Your coin has been dipped in acid as stated, I have seen this before so it is a damaged coin now and only is worth face value if someone even accepts it. ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19155 Posts	Posted 10/17/2023 2:17 pm Damage yes. Not 100% convinced the damage was caused entirely by acid. Devices and surface detail inside of the rim appear 'sharper' than an acid exposure would bring, I'm thinking. Looks to have been shaved down a bit along the rim--when looking at the first 2 images.
