The U and S have been damaged.
And if you know "what the heck" you're looking at
Why are you asking?

Time to adjust the attitude or you won't last long here. You'd be missing out on a fantastic resource.

Not only is this coin damaged, it's quite obvious damage.

The simple fact that you are saying the letters are "stamped" clearly shows you are out of your league trying to argue with seasoned collectors.

Take a breath and please study the minting process and the terminology at least some. You can learn a lot here if you're patient.

It is okay if you do not know about coins, we all have to start somewhere and you are at the right place to learn. I continue to feel ignorant all the time but I say thank you to those who teach me and continue on.

You asked for help and you got your answer. I know what I am talking about. I've been collecting coins since October of 2016. This is just damage. You need an attitude adjustment, if you want to stay here.

At the risk of piling on, I agree with all above. Damage, of a post-strike nature.

Beware Pareidolia.

The enlarged dot between E & P is all that peaks my interest thus far.

I guess his qualification far surpasses mine from the mid 1960's.

I agree some what. If you want to sound like a true collector or coin enthusiast. Most prefer the terms struck or strike. Even though they are coined using a stamping machine. Thanks, Doug.
Just noticed new post count EV vs Forum Dad. Some catch up needed. Thanks, Doug.
