1931-S Lincoln From Circulation - Coin Community Forum

JayDon62 Valued Member United States 138 Posts	Posted 04/04/2009 12:24 pm OK, OK this was found in circulation approx 1976-1978. I dragged out my old Whitman penny folders that got me started collecting in 1976. The only dates I am missing are the obvious 1909-S, 1909-S-VDB, 1914-D, 1922 Plain and 1955 DD. I was suprised that I had a 1931-S in the folder. My Mom owned a deli in Philly during the 1970's-1980's, so I used to search ALL the coins before they reached the register. I have a bag of approx 8,000 wheats and a nearly complete Lincoln Cent collection. Here is a photo of my 1931-S. What would you guys grade it? I would say a VF-30 that is listed at about $160. If your happy with a coin the way it is, leave well enough alone. True that Acetone should, may, might not effect the coin, but why take that chance with a valuable coin.
