I also have few of these coins. The lack of details on both sides tell me that this is likely to be fake, especially at the dragon head. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

@osw, first welcome to CCF. Second, best practice is to start a new thread for each new coin posted. Therefore, I've split off your post from that previous thread. For reference, here is a link:

It's unfortunately a low quality fake, looks nothing like the real thing.

I would have to agree, definitely not genuine.

It sure looks bad. I have fakes that look much better.
I'd like to have more very poor to list in my collection.
I have so many that look so good, I'd like to include crummy ones.

Even without a visual comparison alongside a known genuine coin,
I note that the design details are indistinct, and the green spot does not instill any confidence at all that this coin is genuine.

I have to agree with all of the above negative comments.
- a keeper, provided that it was acquired for very little money, or better still, for free. To be kept for your own education on how to identify fake coins.

I also have to agree with Albert, - deceiving fakes are much more dangerous, and so it is necessary to examine those closely, and be familiar with them, for your own education.

Thank you for all the replies. I did not pay for these coins, just found about 100 old coins left behind by my dad. I actually know that they are "bad" fake coins. I have quite a number of other coins like the 1 yen 416/900, and many which I don't recognize. I will share whenever I find time. The 1 yen 416/900 coin looks decent but it weigh heavier so I doubt they are genuine as well.
