If you ever take that out of the case, it would be interesting to know the mass. Wonder if the teeth care caused by excess metal getting shoved up during the strike.

I don't even think the Eisenhower would even qualify as an error because it looks minor by comparison. Also I've seen others that look similar

I didn't know what it was called, so thank you for pointing it out. I think there is more of this going on recently. I see it on the "new" quarters quite frequently.

Many and many proof quarters has this feature due to the second strike. This ffeature is rare on business strike.

I have Kennedy halves with the same features a lot more minor but they come up once in awhile I don't think this is more common on proofs I have a lot of sets and I haven't really seen any with errors.

It does indeed appear to be a crenellated rim. Very rare, in my experience.
Error coin writer and researcher.

Thanks I wouldn't have known what it was if I didn't have a similar looking coin from before, I don't know how it would get out in a set with what looks to be an obvious error.
