This popped up on ebay for $65.00 & $3.81 S/H. Listed as circulated. Figured for that price I couldn't go to wrong. These are Sellers pictures cropped as I just purchased a few minutes ago.

I smell a counterfeit. That's a $300 coin in G condition. Post a link to the listing. Edit: Found it https://www.ebay.com/itm/126162375077No returns, 48 feedback, hasn't sold anything in over a year.

These things I all Know. I also know when I say counterfeit, I'll get a refund. Please evaluate what you see.

Date digits are mis-shaped and denticles don't look right. That curved line through the reverse denticles from 2:00 to 4:00 isn't normal. Liberty's face isn't clear in the photo but her nose doesn't match any real Seated quarter I've seen. The price was way too low for a genuine coin and the photos confirm counterfeit status, IMO.

I say genuine mishandled proof.

It's always disappointing to see the quick assumptions that a coin is fake based on a low price, no return policy or low feedback. It really shows how little some collectors actually look at the coin in question before jumping to a conclusion. I agree with frog that this could be an impaired proof. Well worth the risk to be able to assess it in hand.

Yeah, first impressions were an impaired proof to my eyes also; coin does not seem to have anything jump out saying counterfeit or altered save for what others mentioned...

This is either a modern counterfeit, or stolen images of a real coin. Based on the quality of the coin, I'm leaning towards the former.
Account of seller has been inactive for many years, at least 5+. Almost certainly a compromised/hacked account.

Shipped today from where it's supposed to be shipped from (Massachusetts). We'll see what happens. I say why bother hacking an account and selling an item for $65 but hey, that's me. As to an ebay account laying dormant for years, My own account that I've had since May 1999 has laid dormant for several years just due to lack of necessity and a busy work life. When I needed to sell on ebay, I had a no return policy as I wanted the stuff out of my house and not to be handling the same item several times. And for the "too cheap" comments, apparently you haven't seen this http://goccf.com/t/313048

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, but there are always exceptions. Sometimes you get lucky.
Worst-case scenario, you're out $65 and learn something in the process.
On the other hand, perhaps you really have won the coin lottery here and managed to snag a $500-$1000+ coin for $65, in which case, I'll be as excited as you are!

Quote: Worst-case scenario, you're out $65 and learn something in the process. I've never lost any money on counterfeit coins off ebay. If seller doesn't fix it, ebay does. Happened 3 times, once on a single coin listing, and twice in bulk lots in a dozen years or so of buying coins off ebay. I've made far more money on the "too good to be true" listings than the $4.00 I ever lost on ebay years ago (on return shipping when a kid was using their parents account and sent me somebody elses order)

Put me in for impaired proof! I've scored with ebay countless times, I have hope it is good. Congrats on the buy!

Lots of red flags but photos are too small to say for sure.
