Does anyone find it odd that PCGS does not provide solo Reverse pictures when you pay for imaging. You get an Obverse image and a side-by-side certificate image.

I'll assume there is a valid reason for this - could someone enlighten me?

Not entirely sure; perhaps because the obverse is generally regarded as "more important" for grading.

I would hope there is something more to it.

They already have an image of the Reverse. If one pays for a coin to be imaged then why on earth do they not provide a complete set of images.

I have never submitted a coin myself, so I have only ever seen the TrueView images hosted on their site. They are quite huge!

I did not know they provided a solo obverse photo. Is that image larger than the one from the TV? If not, you could just crop the TV, which is what I did for the images I have for my Eisenhower dollar set (the ones that have a TV).

Or are you saying they send you physical copies of these images?

From my account I can download images, Obverse and the TV side by side. They just do not provide access to the Reverse. I can certainly crop from TV but it has the watermark behind where the Obverse does not. They are the same size - single is 3000x3000 and TV is 6000x3000.

It is not a huge issue but I do find it extremely odd especially since I paid for imaging.

Use a circle crop to get rid of the background.

Here is an example of my 1978-D Ike image adapted from the TV...

Maybe they take the reverse image, paste in the obverse image for the combo, then save it without changing the file name, and they lose the original reverse image. That would be dumb but possible.
