Do the coins themselves smell of smoke or just the wrapper/tube? I once purchased a book from a numismatist who smoked and the smell had just soaked into the pages. Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6473 Posts	Posted 11/15/2023 1:16 pm I guess you could sell the toned coins via ebay, so picky customers don't have a chance to smell them first. That happened to me with a used laptop once. I went through all the checks, but when I finally used it for an extended period, it became apparent that the thermal paste had deteriorated and was giving off a brutal benzene stink similar to body odor.
