Hi community, While roll hunting I came across this '79 red woody and I tried researching it myself to no avail. So now I turn to the Community in hopes someone knows something. Ken Potter I need you...lol! Sorry the woidy does not show as well as I want in pics the lines angle from north down to south west and the red is a lil more cherry color than I can get from my A54 camera. Thank you all...

You have a normal circulated Cent with some staining and it is not a woody.

to the CCF If you search a lot of copper Lincolns, you will find this shows up on any year in the series. I think it's a result of being exposed to some chemical. They come in any shade of red from a little to completely red. Maybe Silvio will comment on them.

This looks more brown or red/brown, and not a woody from what I can tell.

Thugz, Please work on posting better quality photos. The better the photos you post the better we can help you. Not a woody, looks like maybe roller lines. John1

I suspect roller lines, given the posted pics. Color/tone is the result of environmental agents. And, some staining working its magic as well.

I appreciate the input and I will take it all in consideration as I continue researching it to be sure I can only take pics from my phone. I'm working on getting a quality camera. It is a woody it just wouldnt show in the pic and partly due to the red color keeps it from standing out strongly. Thanx again

Quote: It is a woody it just wouldn't show in the pic More likely roller lines. They are thin and evenly spaced, unlike a "woody".
