There is a product call Nic-A-Date that helps revele the date and I think you can also use vinegar. Try using the search box upper left of page for info.

Only way to tell is to use the acid date restorer sold in coin shops. It will still have little value even after the date reveal.

Keep an eye out for a dateless Buffalo with doubled feathers. Quite valuable.
