I have absolutely no idea about coins, but I found a penny with a silver edge. Does anyone have any thoughts it's a 2000

Your coin is a Dryer Coin not an error.

with the Dryer Coin. The "silver" you see, is the exposed zinc, after the copper plating was worn off.

Excellent example of a dryer coin--with zinc core showing. I'd keep it as a fun curiosity.

Yes you should keep as an example, note the rounded thick rim is always a sign of a Dryer Coin.
