Hey guys I've had this quarter for a while, I found it today. It seems like the quarter seems smaller than the same quarter if that year. I put pictures side by side so yall can see. The quarter in question the font and size seems smaller and the obverse I'm losing the word liberty. It goes from big letter to small lettering.

@vogo, best practice is to only start one thread per coin so I'm merging these two threads.

As mentioned by @tun above, the best way to confirm whether you have a quarter struck on a nickel planchet is by weighing it.

Here's a little tip. The very first thing you do if you suspect a wrong planchet/metal stike is weight it. The weight doesn't lie.

so far it looks normal, if you want us to see the edge of a coin, you should post an image if the edge.
One coin looks to have been struck by a tired die.

You can kinda see the reeds, it looks like the reeds have been smashed like a spooned coin or a Dryer Coin.
