I just took the Mint's new survey regarding re-strikes of previous US coins for the Semiquincentennial (2026). My responses were definitely steered toward favoring 18th and 19th century designs vs. 20th and/or 21st century designs. I also didn't support designs that the Mint has already re-issued in some form.

I agree with your input. There needs to be a change in philosophy at the Mint. Classic designs are always popular - no more rehashed history outside of the odd commemorative issue now and then. They've ridden that horse for too long and collectors seem to be burned out. Time for artistry and symbolism to come back for a while - I like the Liberty medal series for that reason.
