*** Edited by Staff to Add Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

Hi I am a relatively new collector. I've found several easy-to-spot and common pieces like the filled D error in quarters, but today I stumbled across what I think could be a double strike on a 1989 penny. I found it on the SE side of the mint mark, but after looking through different forums I think it may just be zinc corrosion. Can someone with a better eye confirm this for me?

Thank you!

@clo, first welcome to CCF. Second, this form of doubling is called split plate doubling. Any tiny bits of exposed zinc core will rapidly deteriorate.
