So I think I found something but I am an extreme Noob. I had laid out my quarters and started going through them. This is when I spied a strange difference in 4 of the quarters. I goggled but could not find it. Youtube and other sites shared nothing on this.

I attached 5 pictures of four completely separate coins and need to know how to describe it.

Pictures:
1. Coin 1 is the KisaTchie where the "T" looks normal. Note the T does not show any raised section around the "Eye or Wedge," as I mentioned I googled a lot.
2. Coin 2 is another quarter and again the KisaTchie "T" looks normal.
3. Coin 3 is one where you can see a faint start to the eye or wedge in the head of a hammer in the "T."
4. Coin 4 is a wide shot of where the "T" forms a hammer. In this you can see a raised section around the Eye/Wedge at the top of the T.
5. Picture 5 is the close up where you can see in coin 4 that it shows the Wedged T with a partly raised head and the handle really shows up.

So has anyone seen this before?

Thanks

Looks like a worn die issue.

No and thank you for noticing that and posting this thread. I don't know of any way other than Die Deterioration for that to occur though. The quarters with more of a tack hammer appearance must have been struck from tired dies. Is there other evidence of this phenomenon on them?

Also, welcome to CCF!

to the CCF This is what Machine Doubling on an incised devise looks like. Very common on todays quarters.
