Hi all,
I have 2 1960 D Lincoln Memorial coins. Both appear to be the large date however the D is in a different position. I do not think this is a small over large date variety. Has anyone noticed this before? Thanks

Mint marks used to be punched in by hand, into the dies, with 1989 being the last year. So mint mark positions varied.

OK. Given the location variances could be infinite, I guess mint mark position is not classes as a die variety?

If the mintmark is dramatically misplaced there can be some collector interest. There were some Lincoln's from the mid 50's where the mm slightly lapped over onto the bottom of the 5 in the date , and some Mercury dimes with the mm lapping onto the bottom leaf. These are more or less curiosities and collector interest and value reflects this.
I do know of one modern exception. The 1975-d misplaced mintmark nickel fs-401 https://www.pcgs.com/auctionprices/...873146161329
