Found in some bank rolls I was through and at first just thought the coin had just seen better days but the more I looked under the scope started seeing images underneath. Pictures are definitely not the greatest but in my defense I'm in my fifties and this is the first time I have ever posted to a forum in my life so forgive the errors on my part. I can take criticism fairly well so don't hold back it's the only way I will learn. My question basically does anyone else see something such as another coin image underneath the normal image. Thank you.

@fdl, first welcome to CCF. Second, for sure this cent is heavily damaged. I'm a little curious though about the region around the date. Any chance of you providing a nice, in-focus closeup of that area? Pls no pic of a computer screen though. Thx.

Yes, damaged. Appears to be a layer of glue-like gunk on the obverse. Might be fun to give the coin a long soak in 100% acetone. Might clear away, or reduce said gunk.
