WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! THE WINNING NUMBER IS...26wheezy, only 4-58D's, and ONLY 1-59D (I'm surprised myself) If I've read right, coppernickeldaddy is the winner with a dead-on guess of 26! PM me your address and I'll get the alleged 2008D roll out to you.I've decided to put on a new contest. This will be a rollover contest. If no one wins this one, the prize will rollover and combined with another prize for another contest and will continue until there's winner. This first contest is a simple guess. 50 or more posts to enter please. wheezydog, if you win this one...you'll make a lot of people---well let's just say don't expect too many christmas cards this year, after all the contests you've won. But, this one is right up your alley... I just bought my 6th $100 box of nickels. How many pre-1960 nickels will I find (in this single box)? I will only count US nickels from 1959 and earlier. This will include any buffaloes and, God-willing, any earlier nickels as well. EXACT GUESS WILL WIN ONE GUESS ONLYPRIZE:ONE (1) BU roll of 2008D nickels. If no one guesses the exact number, this prize will rollover into another contest at a future date. Good luck all, you too wheezy! I'll post the answer on Friday, so all guesses MUST BE IN BY THURSDAY 11:59PM Forum Time. *I need to update the prize info: The roll is apparently not a Fed roll. I was looking at and realized it is not a String and Sons wrapper. These were received from a bank purchase. There were about 7 or 8 of these rolls. I had opened a few and they were all bright shiny UNC 2008D nickels. I put these aside since I figured there'd be no point in looking for anything I might need. I happened to look at one of the rolls today and noticed a '96 on one end. I opened it and found 1 2000D in there as well. The rest were the same bright shiny 2008D's. More than likely, the roll you will receive will have ALL 2008D nickels. Sorry for the mistake, but believe me it was an honest one. Anyone know where these might have come from? Brinks perhaps? I thought Brinks and similar companies used the plastic sausage casing style rolls that I've been finding when I buy boxes. Anyways, contest will continue as usual. Sorry again for the error.Image Insert: So here's what I'm talking about. Obviously (now) not a String & Son wrapper. the two non 2008 nickels are right in front. the rest as you can see are shiny and new. The roll on the right shows 2008D on each end, and I'm assuming the rest inside are as well. I had opened 3 rolls when I first got them and they were, to the best of my knowledge all 2008D. Well, I've been through a LOT of boxes of nickels (close to 170 at this point) so I will guess the average number that I find per box, and tack on a couple extra to make up for the fact that I don't pull 1959's.
26
Thanks for the contest, and good luck everyone!

ROFL!Quote: wheezydog, if you win this one Woah, ![Rollover-Contest-[ended]](http://www.forumsextreme.com/images/sFi_rockthrow.gif) Now I have to make this a good guess, but should I be right maybe I should give it to the second closest .... hmmmm. NOT!Here's my guess 43 and I'll take that MS69 Full step 2008 D nickel right out of that roll and show it to all of you. 100 dollars is 50 rolls average find will be .8 nickels per roll = 40 total. Plus you will have some extra luck and add 3 to it. So I'll say 43 PRE 1960 nickels of any kind. Thank you very much for allowing me to play and for your good idea for a contest. Not many people go and spend $100.00 just to run a contest around here. I even go a little further and guess of the 43 you will find 9 of them are 1959 D nickels and 6 will be 1958 D's.
