It's a small date "D" allright.
Need to have an accurate weight to see if it's a copper planchet. 3.11 grams.
This is a notoriously misrepresented coin, by scammers, especially online.

That's the problem,I have bought probably twenty or more 82 small D and 83 prospects over the years with 3 gram weight claimed and 0 worked out so far but I never buy unless there is a return policy so it only costs me for shipping it back.

Yeah it's a tuff call, cuz what if right? It is very highly unlikely that it's the Holy Grail '82-D.

Ya that's what I thought but I saw the big nicks in it and look like copper so took a chance, been wrong everytime but the seller said it was 3.11,if it's not I;ll send it back, which I expect to do what's the odds finding a real one, only 2 in 40 years were found I think so I'm not too excited had many prospects and used to get excited but not anymore.

Sitting on a scale wieght is actually easy to trick out,a peice of foil under the coin can fiddle the weight to what you want,I shouldnt get in trouble here(I hope( by the moderators for saying that because that trick has been around since digital scales started.
