I'd guess a reeded edge; a lot of the abomination counterfeits I've seen had reeded edges (even for issues that aren't supposed to).

1803 silver dollars didn't have a denomination on the coin. This one's a cast copy.

Early U.S. gold and silver coins did not have denominations on them, it was assumed that the weight would indicate what denomination it was supposed to be.
