The first thing you should tell him is to stop holding it at all, at least without gloves.

@brandmeister oh trust me I told him. And it's definitely genuine, was gifted to his grandmother after their first child.

Looks genuine, but pretty difficult to grade (and therefore value) accurately from these pics.
