Had a buddy that knows I'm into coins ask me if I know anything about his "grandmas cool coin" that he found and sent me this picture. Don't even know what to say.

1914-S? Common date, but worth its weight in gold if genuine.

@coinfrog that's the best back picture I could get from him. He is not into coins so he doesn't understand a good picture

The first thing you should tell him is to stop holding it at all, at least without gloves.

Really gorgeous coin! Hope that it's genuine.

@brandmeister oh trust me I told him. And it's definitely genuine, was gifted to his grandmother after their first child.

Looks genuine, but pretty difficult to grade (and therefore value) accurately from these pics.

Not "rare" by any means but a wonderful coin no matter the grade! 63+ to 65 to these old eyes of mine!

That's a solid $2000 in gold there, not bad at all for a "cool coin!"
