This coin displays what I think to be several areas of lamination errors on the obverse side. One fairly long line on the right side of the coin starting a short distance from the rim at the top and running down to the 2 in the date. Then several shorter indications between it and Lincoln's face along with two more indications on Lincoln's face. One on the tip of his nose and the other on his chin. Both indications on his face have flaked off giving Lincoln a zombie type appearance in my opinion. I am curious to hear some expert opinions on this.

Agree. Some collectorws like this sort of thing, but I look at laminations as defects.

Hard from photos to say. The way I see ex-foliations, circulation and the first two pics (cleaned coins) I tend more for aging material exfoliation due to the alloy composition.

The pattern see here do not fit with the rolling, strike at the Mint facility. Some peoples like this and look at this as an error, but for almost 100 years Cooper, Tin and some Zinc with the circulation pressure (allmost the kicks on) it is normal that the material will dettach.

I posted the coin as I found it. If it was cleaned, it was not done so by me, I can assure you. My main reason for posting this coin was to see if I could get a feel for how valuable or sought after these type of error coins. I've read up on lamination errors but still don't know if they are something that would increase the value of my collection. What are your thought on this subject?

I do not say you cleaned because I do not think you are 95 years old to own this coin from the born. So is no accusation directed to you. The coin could not wrote the memories book.

For the value? I am not expert on this. Manny collectors like those coins and collect. It is a market for those coins. Sure a premium apply to this coin. How much? I will let the price specialist here to pronounce. For me from technical and material point of view it is a nice example of material (metal) aging. Just to understand a little bit. In 1962 the Mint Director ordered that from August 1 the coins alloy to be change to Brass (95Cu, 5Zn) for two reasons: 1. The cost of the Tin and 2. Accumulation of the coins by collectors due to material defficiences, specially exfoliation and planchet cracks (Lams)

Let see the prices.

I like lams, because they were some of the first coins I started to collect. Some people don't. I collect them knowing they don't have a high premium, unless it's a MS coin and it's a big lam. But that's ok with me. Collect what you like, they only cost .01 or a few cents.
