This is a fairly nice RPM on an early date. But it gets expensive to pick up this date in higher grades and so I've always been happy with my circulated example. Then this one came up at auction as a cherrypick and I really liked the look of the coin so bought it. I don't know if it will slab straight but very tempting to give it a shot with ANACS. 1931-D/D Lincoln Wheat cent - RPM-001

I like the color and it looks to be well struck. Congrats.

Color is great, it is so nice I would slab it. Save the history on a coin like this.

Nice find bats. Curious, why don't you think it would straight? Color?

Thanks folks! While the look is, in my opinion, quite attractive, the obverse in particular seems flat and only has a hint of cartwheel effect. I would expect something this high grade to show more luster and it just seems like the surfaces could have been treated or the coin being dipped.

That's funny. I was just working on cherry picking this same variety last night. Might have found one we'll see. Nice pick up btw

Just got this coin back from ANACS. It went MS 64 BN and pretty happy with that end result.
