But it gets expensive to pick up this date in higher grades and so I've always been happy with my circulated example. Then this one came up at auction as a cherrypick and I really liked the look of the coin so bought it. While the look is, in my opinion, quite attractive, the obverse in particular seems flat and only has a hint of cartwheel effect. I would expect something this high grade to show more luster and it just seems like the surfaces could have been treated or the coin being dipped. Report this Post to the Staff
