This 1943-P War Nickel has rusted in the bag of "stuff" from my mom's house. Do you suggest that I leave it or have it professionally cleaned and sealed? If latter, how do I begin to find right company? Is it worth going to extra expense?

I don't think it's rust. It doesn't have any iron in it. It's probably just what's called toning. There's nothing wrong with toning so it's better not to try to clean it. As for sealing, if you like the coin you can try putting it in a two by two holder or a coin capsule, but I'm not sure if the coin's value warrants the expense.

manganese oxides can appear rust like. Acetone will not help but VerdiCare likely will.

Probably just toning of some sort.

Appears to be normal toning. To stop it you'll need to keep the coins protected from air.

Do not clean it and do not have it professionally cleaned. Dip in 100% pure acetone and put it in a plastic snap holder.

As already said, it's likely just environmental toning. Leave it alone.

Not rust, looks like corrosion.
