Hey everyone, my first post here. Hope I don't leave out any details. I came across this very strongly misprinted 1974 Nickel. It doesn't seem to be the 1974 on 1973 date error but is close.

On the back you can see it was struck twice with the second strike being way misaligned. Most obvious on the building in the middle.

The front is full of errors with almost all of the letters and digits affected. The date is strongly affected. The 9 is missing half of the digit and the 7 aswell as 4 are also badly damaged. I don't think it's damage from circulation considering the misaligned second strike on the back. It's best if you just have a look for yourself. What do I have here? I plan on going to a coin show in the next few days and would love to know.

PS. If I left something out forgive me; I will add any additional information needed.

@norg, first welcome to CCF. Second, I'm seeing a heavily circulated nickel. All of the various tick marks, gouges, and impressions are best explained by this use in the market rather than mint errors.

Agree with Spence--post-strike damage. Also, the reverse shows what may be the (deliberate?) impression of another coin--perhaps the reverse of a Memorial cent.

I agree with PMD not a mint error.

To CCF! I'm just seeing a normal circulated nickel with damage. No errors here, just PMD.

I'm also just seeing a very badly struck nickel from a worn die, and a possible evidence of another coin was crushed against this one.

I agree with the others about it being a "vise job" and it looks like the reverse of a Memorial cent was used.
