An fascinating piece with Boston stamped on a Mexican colony 2 real from 1745.

Could this be related to a early colonial times from the United States? The name might give a clue.

Anyone here more specialized in this kind of history :)?

@vince, since the host coin is from the Spanish colonies, I think that this thread is better suited to the world coin subforum. As you know, we got some folks who hang out there who know tons about these things and I'm hoping that they will weigh in on the origin of this counterstamp.
