"In 2023, the Central Bank continued the process of modernizing the banknote line.

In October 2023, updated banknotes in denominations of 1000 and 5000 rubles were presented.

The day after the presentation, the banknote with a face value of 1000 rubles was withdrawn for design revision. Information about the design of this bill has disappeared from all official sources of the Central Bank. They promised to finalize the design and present the banknote again in early 2024.

In 2024, according to the plan, a 500-ruble banknote will be presented and put into circulation."
