I'm sorry man these photos don't do this thing any justice I mean you could almost compare it's color and texture to like the gold dollar coins I don't know hit me

@farm, first welcome to CCF. Second, I wonder if this nickel wasn't gold-plated (aftermarket--not at the mint).

Plating would be my guess - I know Littleton (The Collector's Friend ) used to do this sort of thing.

Farmer2017, all sorts of US coins have been gold-plated for various reasons. I believe that is what your Buffalo nickel is. Here are a few that I liberated from "American Currencies" medals.
