I, too, am surprised it received a "Brown" designation. Looks RB to me.

I thought they confirm the assigned grade and assign a color bean based on how the coin meets that grade. can you enlighten me? I've never used CAC but just want to add it to my knowledge base.

CAC has only recently gone into the grading business.

I'm not so sure it is friction as much as the typical 24d weakness of the strike and the planchet when you see it in hand.
