Not sure if anyone has tried this, but is it possible to ask a bank branch to order boxes for you from a specific servicer, like Loomis, Brinks, Garda, Titan, etc.? Has anyone tried this? If so, any luck? Appreciate any input here. Thanks.

My guess, is that a bank (whether a branch or a "single store") could only do so from the servicer with which it has a contract. I doubt this sort of thing runs like the grocery store model, where you just pick out an item from ten possible manufacturers. Even then, the bank may just stare at you blankly.

Hmm, maybe I'll try next time and see what happens. May very well get a blank stare back. To be honest, I've never actually ordered a box before, so this will be an adventure!

Being a branch manager I can answer this one, my bank has a contract with one servicer, Loomis, and would only order and distribute to them.... I am not aware of any banks with multiple sources available.

If you want different servicers, you'll apparently needs different bank accounts at different banks.

Thank you all for the input so far. In my area, all the branches that I get coins from have Loomis for some reason. I guess the Loomis sales rep for the area is really good at his/her job. Also, is this a decision/contract at the corporate level, the regional level, or the branch level? Just trying to figure out how far I'd have to go to find a different servicer.
Cheers!

I'd guess that sort of stuff is negotiated at the corporate level.

I would suggest checking out sourcing for credit unions rather than banks as they are possibly smaller and have one off relationships with some of the other carriers.

Don't forget: banks are in the business of dispensing money, not selling collectables. Demanding your money be given to you is a right; demanding your money be given to you in a specific form (eg. boxes of coins, rather than notes) is a privilege, not a right. For a bank, coins are fungible - one box of coins is functionally identical to any other box of coins of the same face value and denomination. Whom they order the boxes from is irrelevant to them, in terms of the contents, because things like dates, mintmarks, varieties etc are utterly meaningless to them - the only things that would govern their decision are things like costs and delivery times. If Company X is the cheapest, quickest and most reliable at fulfilling orders for coins, then Company X gets the contract from that bank. They therefore have no reason to need or want multiple sources for boxes of coins.
Coin collectors, expressing their belief that this box of coins from this company is somehow superior in quality to that box from a different company, merely prove to the bankers that coin collectors are not entirely sane and rational in their requests.

My bank uses both Brinks and Loomis. I have gotten two boxes of Loomis cent boxes one week, and the next week, two Brinks boxes of cents. Same thing with all other coin denominations.

Locally, my Wells uses Brinks and those are almost always "Fed" wrapped coins. The BofAs here typically use GARDA, which usually (but not always) dispense String & Son wrapped coins. Quote:

I am not aware of any banks with multiple sources available. What about ordering directly from the Fed? Is this even possible anymore? If you wanted to acquire brand new obw rolls, is there any way get them other than just luck of the draw?
