Hello
I have a Unc still in mint package 19234s WL HD, Ive never seen this on silver before kind of looks like a Cud. die break from center to date, date can hardly be seen. the reverse looks like a Cud also below the wing.
Ive been searching everywhere to identify the device, came up blank.
Please advise with identifying.
Thank you

To my eyes, a fairly well circulated coin in the F-12/15 range and details damage at that. Appears like a scratch at the date, and a large scratch where the mintmark is...

Scratches make a depression on a coin, while a die break/crack make ridges...

@ibuy, first welcome to CCF. Second, this coin is absolutely not uncirculated. If it is indeed in original mint packaging, then someone has opened it and swapped out the coins. Those scratches definitely did not happen during the minting process.

Been in his Closet for 50+ years I know of his whole collection is all ,mint packages. But your correct I wasn't watching them 24\7 and nothing 100% ever. So IDK never would think of him doing that.
My apologies.

I'd say VG sharpness and probably a details coin with that cut. Definitely not mint packaging.

@ibuy, thx so much for providing additional pics. If you don't mind, would you please post overall pics of the entire packaging--front and back. I'm curious to see what these look like, although it is a bit tangential to your original question. Thx.

@ ibuysilver "I have a Unc still in mint package 19234s ... " The shown coin is definitely not Unc., not with the wear both obverse & reverse. Pictures make it difficult to determine grade.

First I've heard of "original mint packaging" from 1923.

Check out this link to PCGS photo grade to compare grades for your coin. This should help.
